CHOIR IN THE CLOUD

WHAT IS THE CLOUD AND WHY HAVE A CHOIR IN IT?

Well, put pretty simply, the cloud is the internet - that network of servers that allow us to share information over cyberspace.

 

My vision is to broaden the definition of a choir - to bring voices together that would otherwise never have had the opportunity to sing together as a group - and to create a beautiful synergy of voice and harmony.

HOW DID IT ALL START?

This is not the first time that voices have been brought together over the internet, virtually. I remember seeing Eric Whitacre's virtual choir and being completely in awe of what he created and instantly thought to myself - how would this go with pop music? I created a small community of international members called Get Singified, and introduced the concept. Our first attempt was Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" which was done via audio only. You can 

WHO CAN JOIN?

Well this is a global choir - so it really doesn't matter where you're from you can join. I welcome anyone who wants to sing with us to give it a try.

WHERE ARE YOUR MEMBERS FROM?

We currently have 170 members from UK, USA, Taiwan, France, Denmark, Sydney, Melbourne, Canada, Fiji, Malaysia, Phillipines and more.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BE A PART OF CHOIR IN THE CLOUD?

  • A printer (or printer access) to print out sheet music

  • Two devices (one to playback music and the other to record audio/video) we suggest - computer, tablet or smartphone

  • A Facebook Account so that you can connect with our group to join and be updated with Choir In The Cloud Events and important information

  • Ability to read sheet music is preferred but it is not compulsory.

  • A minimum intermediate level singing is preferred
